^ Yes, but in real life if an F1 car drives past you, thats the only thing you can hear, even when you try and speak nothing comes out 'cos its so loud. I bet in LFS you can still hear the road cars clearly even with a GTR car or the F1 sitting next to it revving like crazy ...

I dont know if this is to do with the cars, or the track, but the brick walls sometimes disappear when you look at them through the windscreen. See the pics ...

Its not that complicated, only took 10mins, see the attached pic.
The first pic is the basic image

For the second pic i have adjusted the levels, and adjusted some of the colours using replace colour (in photoshop... image>adjustments>replace colour)

There is a big step up to the third pic. I cut around the close objects (the whole of the bottom part of the image until the track drops away) so i had seperate layers (which makes things a lot easier when you need to blur) for the close (unblurred) and distant (blurred) parts of the image. I also added the grass by using the grass brush, to create the shadows on the grass i selected certain parts and used the burn tool.

At this stage i thought it was finished (some people might prefer the 3rd pic to the 4th ... i dont). But i added another layer and in the end, it changed quite a bit

Does that help ?

Quote from Tokartta :Some people keep thinking that setting 900 degrees in the DFP settings means that when using a car with, say, 540 lock, you have to turn far the full 900 to achieve max lock, and thus advising against it - this is only true if wheel turn compensation is set to 0! Set it to 1 and it'll always be 1:1.

This is how my wheel is set up and whenever i say i have it on 900 they say its too much, the most it should be is 720 illepall The only difference is that there is no ffb stopping you turning the wheel more, but how often do you use full lock in a racing situation ...

Quote from ORION :what kings screen do you have? I mean, on the 2nd you can baisically see ... nothing

"kings screen" does anyone else not know what this means lol

The reason i prefer the 2nd is ... i prefer the sky, it stands out more because the scenery is silhouetted, and i like the white lines because even though there is less detail it still gives you a perspective.

But as i said, most will prefer the 1st because its probably more realistic, you can see more detail etc etc

Well, its different. There seems to be too much grip, the only time you seem to get oversteer is by using the curbs, its kind of like there is traction control on ... but there isnt.

It seems impossible to lock up when braking, using 100% brake presure and brake balance of 51:49 in the lambo, you can just stamp on the brake pedal with no worries. If you push too hard the worse that will happen is you'll understeer off, the gravel in GTR used to be punishing but now instead of skating over the top of it, it just slows you down, and you can turn easy enough to get back on track.

edit: what season is it meant to be, because its the old '03 track?

Narrow tracks can add to the sense of speed, and it used to be good when F1 ran at the old Hockenheim, which was not only a high speed track, but was also very narrow making it seem even faster.

You dont exactly need wide tracks to race F1 cars, the modern tracks are too wide i think. Some of the older tracks are wide enough, such as Imola, look at the attached pic.

If an F1 car is roughly 200cm wide, then the track is roughly 10-11m wide! Which may sound narrow, but is a good width. Then look at the other pics, fern bay is about 11-12m wide, but apparently ...

"Sure you can drive a BF1 or FO8 around Fern Bay, but that's what I would call unrealistic because that would never happen IRL. " :pillepall

Then you move on to South City, some parts of this track are up to 30m, most parts are about 15m, and then the narrow bit is 10m.

Kind of puts it into perspective that Fern Bay isnt too narrow for F1 cars, and the mix of tracks we have at the moment are ok.
